Manolo Gonzalez-Estay

Advocate, academic, organizer, political professional; these are just some of the words used to describe Manolo. As comfortable in the halls of power as he is on the picket line, he brings to Welchert & Britz an unmatched aptitude for bringing people together from disparate paths.
Of Chilean ancestry, he was educated in California receiving his BA from UC Santa Barbara in Anthropology and Spanish Literature and his Masters in Anthropology from UC Riverside. Manolo’s deep appreciation of multi-cultural communities combined with a fine tuned personal touch make him a valuable asset to Welchert & Britz clients.
He has vast experience as a community organizer and public participation specialist. He designs meetings from the neighborhood coffee shop to the Capitol steps. He helps clients large and small with meeting design, facilitation and mediation in both rural and urban settings. For example, he has assisted the DOT with highway alignment and environmental impact from the agricultural community of Lamar to the metro neighborhoods under I-70. Manolo currently directs all public involvement and community outreach for the FasTracks North Metro Corridor.
His techniques have been successfully put to the test on the campaign trail as well. He ran Denver Councilwoman Judy Montero’s victorious 2003 race, and was the Political Director in support of Mayor Hickenlooper’s Denver Justice Center campaign. He was instrumental in the success of Ed Perlmutter’s 2006 congressional effort-both primary and general and has also had great success statewide working in support of renewable energy (Yes on 37) and bi-lingual education (No on 31).
Manolo is the go-to-guy when Spanish language news outlets need perspective and analysis on public policy and political issues throughout Colorado. His skill as a writer, communicator and translator of Spanish language material is another great asset for W&B clients.
Manolo and Anna live in Denver’s Washington Park neighborhood with their two English Bulldogs. Budding young politicos can catch Manolo’s class in Political Science Research Methods at the University of Colorado, Denver.
You may not know: Manolo’s favorite mode of transportation is his red Vespa.
